A Decorated stone refers to a stone inscribed with various Designs. A lot of these stones have to do with much larger sites and some have been moved from their original position. A lot of these stone were destroyed when Ireland was invaded by the roman christians. Many of  the decorated stones were used as foundation stones for the early christain churches therefore removing them from local culture.
