Name: Turoe Stone

Location: Turoe Village, Loughrea, Co. Galway. 

Was orginally in a Iron Age Ring Fort a few miles away in Kiltullagh.

Access: By road with parking facilities and an open Farm and play park for kids but you have to pay in during the peak season. This is a good place to visit for a day out with the family.

Description: The stone is a domed shaped Granite boulder. Just over 3 feet high. Dates from 1 to 3 century BC.

Information: The decorations were ingraved in the surface by a technique known as poking.
