Location: Turoe Pet Farm, Bullaun Village, Loughrea, Co. Galway, Ireland. 

 

Was orginally in a Iron Age Ring Fort a few miles away in Kiltullagh.

 

Access: By road from Bullaun Village take the L3201 then the first right hand turn just after the bridge over the Dunkillen River, with parking facilities and an open Farm and play park for kids but you have to pay in during the peak season. This is a good place to visit for a day out with the family.

Description: The stone is a domed shaped Granite boulder. Just over 3 feet high. Dates from 1 to 3 century BC.

 

Traditional Lore: The fertility Stone of Ireland, is said to promote fertility and help with pregnancy

Information: The decorations were ingraved in the surface by a technique known as poking.

 

Measurements: Just over three feet high.
