Trees: Dian Cécht was a physician and healer of the Tuatha Dé Danann. He healed the King Nuada by fitting him with a workable arm of silver after his other one had been chopped off at the first battle of Magh Tuiredh against the Fir Bolg. Dian Cécht also sang incantations over a well in the vicinity of the Second Battle of Magh Tuiredh into which he placed all the slain warriors and once they were dipped in the well they became whole again and were ready for battle once more. Dian Cécht is said to have been a rival of the methods of healing of his own son Miach, who preferred to use herbs and direct touch and incantations, rather than surgical and prosthetic procedures.
