Name: Dysert Celtic High Cross, "St. Tola's Cross". Location: Dyset O'Dea Monastery, Dísert Uí Dheá "the hermitage od Deá" - Carhue Road, Corofin, Co. Clare, Ireland.
Access: By road to the Dysert O'Dea Castle and Archaeology Centre where there is amble parking and the cross is south from the castle. From Corrofin take the R476 south to second Crossroads, then take the road to the west the Cloona lane, follow the Cloona lane to the first turnoff on the right hand side of the road, the Ballycullinan lane follow to the end where these is a parking area for the cross.
Description: A Celtic christain High Cross with geometrical and interlace designs on the two side and back face of the cross dated to the 12th Century. With a figure on the front side is said to be of a bishop.
Traditional Lore: The cross was knocked over by soldiers during the Cromwellian times. it was later repaired by the O'Deá Clan in 1683.
Information: The cross was dismantled in 1960 and transported to Barcelona for an Art Exhibition. Also located closeby in the Local church is a carved Celtic and Romanesque doorway.
