Aghoo Boulder Tomb Photo Gallery & Info

Location: Aghoo Bridge, Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim. 

 

Access: By road, from Ballinamore take the road to cavan, you will pass over the canal at the Aghoo bridge continue on the cavan road and at the next canal lock, stop and the site will be on the opposite side of the canal. their is a crossing bridge at the lock to get to the site.

Description: A small one meter high boulder tomb. Consisting of three base stones supporting a small capstone. These tombs are a smaller version of the Portal Tombs.

 

Traditional Lore: 

Information: Not in original position. Was found and moved to present location during construction of the Ballinamore to Ballyconnell canal.
