Aghavas Megalithic Tomb
Location:
Aghavas, Cloone, Co Leitrim, Ireland.
Access: From Cloone take the Carrigallen
road. Follow the road for 5 km and take the Aghavas Turnoff on the south side of the
main road. Follow the Aghavas road for 1 km and pull over. There will be a lane running
down to a house and the access to the site is a little way down this lane, on the right
side will be a gate and the site is on the far side of the field it enters onto.
Description:
As you can see from the picture
above, the undergrowth has completely reclaimed this site. It was difficult to get any
measurements or to see how many stones were involved in this site.
