Ballyconnell Megalithic Site Info & Photo Gallery

Location: Ballyconnell, Co Cavan, Ireland.

Access: North of Ballyconnell town, out the road to the Gortoorlan Town land, in a field behind the Gaelic Field

Description:  It is hard to say what this site was. It is badly damaged and overgrown, it may have been a Court tomb, or even a Passage tomb as there is a large amount of small stone debris which may have been a covering cairn. It is a pity that it is so over grown, it is a very large structure and seems to have been an important site for the area. With such a large town close by you would think that someone would give up a couple of hours a year to keep the undergrowth  trimmed back.
