Mathgen is a powerful sorcerer of the Tuatha Dé Danann, when asked what he will do to help out in the war against the Fomorians he says he will make the mountains shake their summits so that it will seem like the twelve great mountains are at war with the Fomorians.

This ancient incantation implies he could animate the landscape itself—mountains, lochs, and rivers—to battle supernatural foes.

Mathgen stands out because he personifies the mythological idea that the land itself is a weapon when wielded by divine magic. His presence underscores how the Tuatha Dé Danann viewed the Irish landscape as inherently sentient and responsive to the will of their druidic elite.

Mathgen’s role as ceremonial sorcerer of the Tuatha Dé Danann, wielding elemental and landscape magic on a cosmic scale.
