Maeltne is the advisor to the Tuatha Dé Danann during the Second Battle of Moytura. Lugh asks his advice regarding what they should do to Bres who had caused the war. Maeltne does not accept any of the offers of Bres to give extra milk in the cows or extra harvests. Lugh finally accepts the advice of Bres regarding when to plant, when to sow, when to reap and then spares his life.
