John Fagan

John Fagan lived in Connemara, Co. Galway in the nineteenth century and he had the second sight and he had the power of healing also, which he claimed were given him by his sister that had been taken by the fairies.

His wife used to read fortunes from the tea-leaves but the bigoted catholic priest forbade her from doing so.

John was warned by the priests himself to stop his work, but he paid no attention to them.

Lady Gregory and the poet William Butler Yeats went to see him one time when he was very old to see if they could get a cure for Yeats' failing eyesight.

They were told that the condition of Yeats' eyes had nothing to do with the fairy business and so he could not help them.
