This was a deathly cold blast of air that you felt if you crossed over a fairy place, even in broad daylight on a warm summer's day. It could cause all sorts of malignities upon the unlucky person who felt it, most often one was hit with the 'stroke' which left a person paralysed. It was also known as 'The Blast'.
