Broom is a very powerful protective plant.  If hung in the corners of the house it protects against malignity.  An infusion of the plant sprinkled around the house can stop malign influences, poltergeist activity, hauntings etc.

Broom can be made into a sweeping brush (Hence the name), which when used cleanses the atmosphere around the user.

Broom can be tied into bundles and burnt, the smoke of which purifies the air and gives a blessing on the surroundings.

To quell windy storms Broom should be burnt and the ashes buried underground.
