Access: Very easy to access as it is located in Clones town's Old Market Square, The Diamond, with parking beside the cross.

 

Description: One of the High Crosses of Ireland with ringed head with figurines. Made up from 3 seperate crosses.

 

Traditional Lore: 

 

 

Information: Made up of four different pieces, this cross was first recorded in this location in the diary of one Gabriel Beranger in 1779. The base and shaft which appear to belong together date back as far as the 9th century. The head belongs to a different cross and is believed to have came from a later date. The capstone on top, which features a cross-bones, is much more recent.
